Keeping Yourself Accountable

imagesCAT5BHM8How many times a week do you wake up and say “I’ll workout later or I’ll go to the gym tomorrow”? More then you care to remember I’m sure. What if there was some accountability? Whit if you had to meet a workout partner at the gym? What if you had a routine you were trying to stick to and it was right smack in the middle of the fridge! There are ways to help with accountability.
I’ve been the “new me” now for 2 years this August. I work out 6 /7 days a week and I love the results and I love how I feel as soon as I’m done, but are there times I don’t want to workout? Don’t feel like going to the gym; don’t know what I’ll do today so I’ll start tomorrow type of days. You bet.
There are 2 main things I do to 1, keep me motivated and 2, give me some accountability.
First – I always have those nasty before pictures posted around the house. Nothing motivates me more then to see what I use to look like. That’s not happening anymore! The second thing and my most important thing is writing down and or telling folks what I’m going to do.
When I’m not doing a specific program like P90X, I still want to mix it up and work hard. I sit down and find workouts from many places and then I put a schedule together. That schedule is out in the open on the counter and I pass it every day.
When I make this schedule it’s not just for a few days or even a week, I’ll make it for the Spring / Summer season.
Of course things come up and I miss a day or I rearrange days but having written down works to holding me accountable. I feel I have to do or at least try my hardest to checkoff each workout on the schedule.

Here is a copy of my accountability schedule for the rest of August. In Sept I’m going to a P90X / Asylum Hybrid but until then I know exactly what I’ll be doing.

Saturday – One on One / Cardio DVD / Yoga or Stretch

Sunday – Warrior Workout

Monday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Tuesday – Warrior Workout

Wednesday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Thursday – Treadmill (3 miles speed) / legs

Friday – Warrior Workout

Week 10 (July August 13 – August 19)

Saturday – One on One / Cardio DVD / Yoga or Stretch

Sunday – Warrior Workout

Monday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Tuesday – Warrior Workout

Wednesday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Thursday – Treadmill (3 miles) / legs

Friday – Warrior Workout

Week 11 (August 20 – August 26)

Saturday – One on One / Cardio DVD / Yoga or Stretch

Sunday – Warrior Workout

Monday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Tuesday – Warrior Workout

Wednesday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Thursday – Treadmill (3 miles) / legs

Friday – Warrior Workout

Week 12 (August 27 – Sept 2)

Saturday – One on One / Cardio DVD / Yoga or Stretch

Sunday – Warrior Workout

Monday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Tuesday – Warrior Workout

Wednesday – Ultimate Fat Fighting

Thursday – Treadmill (3 miles) / legs

Friday – Warrior Workout
